One of the telltale signs of organizational culture health is what companies reward.
If the path to recognition is that employees should always be available, respond to non-urgent messages and emails at night… people may adapt to survive. However, slowly but surely, always-on mode is a ticket to burnout.
When the energy capacity is drained, you will see reduced collaboration, emotional withdrawal, more errors, rising rework, disengagement disguised as compliance, and managers stretched beyond their capacity.
Company-wide wellbeing indicator averages often hide these issues.
That is why it is so important to measure them at the team level. Your business may report “healthy engagement,” but if you dig in, you may find that specific teams are operating in chronic stress and silent depletion.
👉 Which of these organizational signals or others have you seen normalized in workplaces?
