@justjbates @OntPharmacists Totally agree Justin , just wish @SylviaJonesMPP also paid the pharmacist appropriately for the services as well. How long has it been since there was a fee increase? And @ImpactRPhs have not had a salary increase in a long time either.

My message has been clear: @Ontpharmacists supports all healthcare providers practicing to full scope and maximizing their knowledge and expertise to create health system capacity and greater patient access. We believe the government should be investing in primary care and all parts of the health system. There are no patient safety risks to expanded scope for pharmacists and I am disappointed in the statement by @OntariosDoctors suggesting otherwise as the evidence does not support these assertions. Patients deserve better. By making significant expansions to the scope of pharmacy professionals, the government of Ontario is making meaningful progress in enhancing the efficiency and safety of team-based healthcare, where each member of a patient’s circle of care is independently empowered to work to the fullest extent of their knowledge and training. Pharmacy professionals are joining their interdisciplinary colleagues in being enabled to do more to assist their colleagues and ultimately, the patients of Ontario.

CMA is calling for a scaling up of interprofessional primary care teams that serve patients in local catchment areas, the way public schools do. The association wants 80 per cent of Canadians to have access to such teams. teamprimarycare.ca can help theglobeandmail.com/canada/article…
