I'm seeing a lot of discourse today about whether Illinois and Michigan are basketball rivals. The answer is clearly no, they are not. In order for them to be rivals, Michigan would have to win at some point, and it hasn't done that in any of the last 9 meetings. Michigan's last win over Illinois in basketball was 2,603 days ago. I hope that settles things for those who weren't sure.
