@manujosephsan While I usually find your writing thought provoking, this piece is confusing. Millionaires don’t compete for anything in India. They send their kids overseas. They don’t drive up the price of economy seats, that’s typically done by how valuable the routing is 🤔.

The best thing about business class is economy class Manu Joseph 'People who fly business class are not the super-rich. They are the mere millionaires, even the upper middle-class—the merchant, the lawyer, a Marxist finance minister, the essayist whose heart beats for Naxals. The billionaire, by not being in competition for the business class seat makes it more affordable for the millionaire, whose encroachment on coach increases the price of economy seats. As in an aircraft, so in life, the millionaire is a bigger perpetrators of inequality than the billionaire, even though they lead laments about the evil. The millionaire occupies the same spaces as coach travellers, usurping opportunities in education, media, start-up culture, finance, arts, while the billionaire is in his own orbit, chiefly competing with other billionaires.' @davewingrave I 100% agree with you. I won’t even take copilot recommendations. They are no longer simple grammar corrections as they used to be.

@kookykarthik Oh boy! Here’s the difficulty - are the ideas hers and she’s outsourced the writing to AI or has she also ‘brainstormed’ the ideas using an AI bot. I appreciated the concept but now I’ll have to reconsider 🤔.

Penguin India needs to recall all copies of Harnidh Kaur’s book and pulp them but that would require some editorial ethics.

Amitav Ghosh spoke at the New School last night, and he came off as a defeated, catastrophist who could not articulate a cohesive vision that grapples with the stakes of climate change for the global south and the intersections of tech, AI, climate, and the state.

While Hari's body is yet to be discovered in Maldives, his family is believed to have accepted the fate of his dim survival. As per the family friends, a Bhog 'Prayer' ceremony will be organised in his remembrance on March 30 afternoon in Sector 8 @thetribunechd #HariSingh

The universe is quite cruel. Some of our greatest motorsport heroes eventually hurt themselves or succumb to completely unexpected, but in similar contexts. You dodged death by the milliseconds all your career when you were at the wheel, but fate found you at a vulnerable time to extract his due. In the 90s I was an active member of the Madras Motorsports Club and have been a track marshal at National Rally events in Tamilnadu and Andhra, The Motor racing track at Irungattukottai and watched Superbikes, F3 and others cars zip by, and the various MotorCross events. Standing tall amongst all of them was the man they called The Flying Sikh! This tragedy feels very personal because I have driven his gypsy during the offseason - when the rally cars were provided to the track marshal team for use within the racing tracks. I hope you went swiftly and without pain, Hari Singh. Thank you for the adrenaline, and for showing everyone that life can be led fearlessly!

@shinieantony So true. The same scene unfolding before our eyes. ‘I’m moving back in while I rethink my life. And oh, my girlfriend will visit…a lot…and oh yeah, I’ll need more closet space…and can we not eat that seedy sourdough…’
