Data from DEA's ongoing potency monitoring (ElSohly et al.) shows mean THC in seized flower rising from ~4% in 1995 to 12-14%+ by 2019, with legal-market flower often 15-25%+ today. Earlier 1970s samples averaged 1-3%. These are means from thousands of tested samples; the upward shift holds for medians too as breeding advanced regardless of legal status. Not a myth.

Cannabis is not stronger today. That is a myth that is repeated by people that don’t know.

@CAPtheLEGEND @medcorrect It was always a gamble when going to pick up a fifty bag whether or not you’d get some brick weed or some properly dried & cured buds. 9/10 it was brick weed but ya still ended up buying it. But high end cannabis equivalent to today’s quality was definitely around.

Next day I bought some 16% banana strain & it had me baked off my brains, I had to go back to room & lie down for an hour. I was proper stoned as in stuck to the bed.

@medcorrect 1000% correct. Consuming over 30 yrs & I don’t get anymore stoned today as I did in the 90’s. Why people believe this bullshit is beyond me. Growing technology & scientific knowledge along with testing technology are the only things that got stronger. A seed is a seed. M

@TheMandyGall Good question. I pulled in beside Peacocks Hotel to take a call the other day. Carpark was full of cars, oldest one I could see was a 161, most of them were reg 2000 upwards.
