@hall291 Hey Pauline! 👋🏽 So sorry to hear about the missed call back, what was it in regards to? Let us know and we'll assist you on this.
English

@virginmedia you didn’t call back as you promised - is this the expected customer service ?
English

@ejames500 People totally pissed off with the last 14 years especially the actions of the non elected PMs - watching public services rumble under non investment, public servants who worked through austerity and pay freezes

@The__Longshanks Understanding it’s a force, using arm to apply Flemings rule

@TTRadioOfficial @SchoolsWeek Wow could I be paid for the hours I work? That would be amazing
English

NEW via @SchoolsWeek - The boss of one of the country’s biggest academy trusts has suggested the 'archaic' directed time cap for teachers should be reviewed, saying 'if we want to be seen as a profession we can’t continue to rigidly count hours' schoolsweek.co.uk/trust-boss-tim…

@lyncey_gilbe When working people are using food banks to balance the budget and children aren’t going to school with a nutritious start - I think it’s the least society can do

@m_chiles @LHS_HighSchool @Doug_Lemov @WALKTHRUs_5 @benkarlin1 And what are you doing fir the more experienced teachers who have practiced these techniques for years ?
English

Our teaching and learning playbook @LHS_HighSchool provides clear guidance for our core techniques for this academic year supported by the work of @Doug_Lemov @WALKTHRUs_5 and @benkarlin1 and Michael Feely 😊
CPD is set out with teaching labs and practice labs to give teachers time to deliberately practice the techniques and feedback is driven by @Steplab_co
Great work led by @MissCole279 👏

@AaronTeamEC I work in an all through school R to year 11 As a staff body we all learn from each other. EYFS is the foundation stone for so many skills - the staff are essential to support us all
English

@HuntEarlyYears @fromthesandpit @AaronTeamEC I’m saying parity with teachers is the solution to the recruitment and retention crisis as those who are teachers are leaving in substantial numbers - do you understand ?
English

@HuntEarlyYears @fromthesandpit @AaronTeamEC I’m just saying parity with teachers isn’t the solution
English

@hall291 @fromthesandpit @AaronTeamEC different but not bigger! it’s not a competition. recruitment and retention is an issue across the whole education sector. this thread is about Early Years.

@AndrewMarshaII So sorry for you and your wife - a ridiculous system which needs a common sense approach
English

My wife Anna is currently trying to extend her Turkish visa because the U.K. government will not allow her to live with me in the U.K. (see below) I cannot live in Anna’s home country Russia, The U.K. government states no travel for British citizens. So what are we to do???
Our situation…
A mess created by a conservative government and ignored by Labour, We wanted to do the right thing, we listened to the home office, took their advice…
I’m a British citizen, my wife is not.
In 2018 the home office told us we hadn’t enough history and I hadn’t been self employed for long enough to get a fiancé visa, So we listened and we waited…
lockdown happened…
We eventually got married…
We have been together 8 years,
8 years of relationship history
8 years of self employed accounts
The government changed the rules for a U.K. spouse visa this year. (Just before our wedding day)
I visit Anna several times each year, when I’m not working I’m not earning so I’m now below the new financial requirement.
I own my house outright.
I have paid tax for 30+years.
Never claimed benefits.
Anna is a freelance artist, illustrator, Speaks three languages.
Still the government say no! They say we may be a risk to the U.K. welfare system,
Yet neither of us would be entitled to benefits so what is the risk?
To go down the human rights route would mean another 10 years of this hanging over our heads. The fees this would involve are eye watering. The visa alone has increased massively. If refused we loose that money. No one in government will acknowledge any of the letters I have sent by post and email. Including Keir, that never replied he just passed my letter on to the home office. As did Rishi my mp.
Now put this in to context or not, a Schengen Visa allowing you access to 26 countries £75
A U.K. spouse visa allowing a British citizen to live with there wife or husband in the U.K. £1846 + Immigration Healthcare Surcharge £1,035 for each year and biometric fee £19.20. Also language test £150
We are collateral damage, That hurts.

@BorisJohnson Just like you didn’t understand the lack of science and maths teachers in secondary schools
English

Suddenly we're in the grip of a 1970s-style brain drain. And Starmer and Reeves are so economically illiterate they don't understand why the exodus of wealth creators is a disaster for Britain
dailymail.co.uk/debate/article…
English

@fromthesandpit @AaronTeamEC Teachers in science and maths particularly are leaving in droves and now can’t be recruited into training - bigger issues I think
English

@AaronTeamEC Definite lack of respect for the profession. We need parity with teachers so that we are seen as educators. We need to stop using the term child care as it perpetuates the idea of baby sitters. We need you ensure there is cover when staff are off sick to avoid burn out.
English

@Co1Mary @Jenny_1884 Why others are better off fir not working all their life - it’s not a joy for most it’s a chore
English

@dstephenh99 @Cath0378 @pete_crichton @Jenny_1884 @greta_garbot @AngelaCaulfiel5 Statistically not actually
English

@sammycat25 @TacoTuesdah @HazelAppleyard_ Again who is determining what is junk ? They need to be nutritionally qualified or based in allergies of staff/students - this could be balanced in the context if their daily intake
English
@TacoTuesdah @HazelAppleyard_ Yes, it has, if that's the school policy and you agreed to it when deciding to send your kid there.. You want your kids eating junk in school?
English

@sammycat25 @TacoTuesdah @HazelAppleyard_ Are you saying it isn’t healthy? That’s an assumption - who tested the food to make that assumption and who has the authority to say what the child should eat in their packed lunch provided by their parent / carers I understand policies based on allergies of other students/staff
English
@TacoTuesdah @HazelAppleyard_ If you don't like the "Healthy Food Policy" your school has in place, then why send your child there in the first place!
English

Dear @BBCNews still heard nothing about no water / poor pressure in Runcorn and now schools are closed @unitedutilities
