@BBCMOTD This is one of the worst decisions I have ever seen. So defenders have to spin athletically with their arms tucked in or behind their backs? Guess those human arms are a hindrance.

Was this a penalty? 🤨 The ball appeared to hit Alphonso Davies' leg before his arm, however after a lengthy VAR check a spot kick was awarded...

To put it in perspective: if a marathon champion runs 42.195 km in ~2 hours, that’s about 2:50 per km… which equals roughly 68 seconds for 400m. A minute & 8 seconds 400m pace for 2 hours. That’s an insane 🥵

@Bighill44 Anyone watching you also learned lessons! Incredible athlete who gave his team everything and more to be the most competitive it could be. Off the field, your commitment to your family and the community cannot be understated.

Forever grateful for the opportunity to enter this league coach. Countless lessons I have learned from you, I continue to share that knowledge with others to pass it forward.

@WhitecapsFC signing @esmuellert_ is the greatest move ever made in our sports community. He is a legend in the game and the fact he has chosen our club in his career path is something I still can’t believe. World is crazy right now and TM and the Caps provide a reprieve.

@Adam_Susman Well maybe I’m just dumb, but I’ve been in the same position as an amateur player. I take the shot to the head or I jump out of the way. I took the shot to the head and it probably made me dumber. It’s a handball. And really unfortunate.

FINAL | POR 2-3 VAN #RCTID It was unlucky not to get 3pts and suddenly the Timbers lose the match in a blink. I don’t agree with the Antony handball. Every human in the world would protect their face like that. I guess it’s not a natural hand position. The debuts went near perfect for Caicedo and Mosquera. Heartbreaking defeat.

@WhitecapsFC AZ is a liability on the field. He has to come off. No desire to defend with intensity and purpose. On the ball, he’s fluff. Really missing Ahmed.

@FarhanLaljiTSN I coach 16 year old athletes. Trying hard to teach the values of competing with self pride and motivation to help them achieve their goals. Observing “pros” giving sub par efforts is very tough to stomach and disappointing. They are being paid to entertain and must not forget.

Absolutely this👇🏾 You can play .400 hockey & still finish in last place. Since the 4-game “bump” after the Hughes trade, #Canucks have played .200 (3-18-4) over 25 games. 13 of those losses have been by at least 3 goals. They look like they’ve quit…
Matthew Sekeres@mattsekeres

#Canucks fans can stomach a young, hungry team that gives a professional effort & falls short. There will also be rebuild nights where they don't play well & get thumped. But getting destroyed with overpriced vets who have stopped giving a shit is not the rebuild they asked for.

Ismael Koné picks up a red card as he gets into a challenge with Kevin Kelsey. The #CanMNT go down to 10 men for the second straight game. It’s 10 v 10 for the rest of this game. Koné misses the first game of 2026.

@MLS I love our team. And obviously they should be expected to be vying for the CUP. But we are still vulnerable in the Centerback position with players who had to replace the injured regulars. The fact we are still winning says much about the depth and adaptability of the team.

Technical skills and athleticism are key components of any athletic sport, but what separates players is speed of thought and game intelligence. There are so many technically and athletically gifted players at the lower levels but their decision making is their challenge.

The Man in the Red Bandana On every 9/11, we remember the heroism and bravery of Welles Crowther. A lacrosse player at Boston College, Welles had experience as a volunteer firefighter, and gave his life saving as many as 18 people on that fateful day.
