Last week the new MR-1 was officially christened and sent off to protect and serve on Lake Lanier. This is a huge accomplishment, not only for HCFR, but for anyone who visits the lake each year. Thank you to all of the public who came to celebrate!

NEWS RELEASE:
At approximately 4:00 am, Hall County Fire Rescue received reports of a residential fire. First arriving units discovered a fully involved single-story residence. Crews extinguished the bulk of the fire utilizing aerial operations. The cause is under investigation.
Sunday was an eventful day for Squad 7C and Battalion 1. They were called out to assist Habersham County Fire, along with Rabun County Search and Rescue, and Gainesville Fire on a call that involved a patient who had fallen into a well in an abandoned home. Great work!
Congratulations to Engineer Brad Hart, on his retirement! Brad has given 15 years to the department and is retiring out of Station 16 on C Shift. We are so thankful for the time he was here and the camaraderie he brought with him. We wish you the best on your next chapter!

Congratulations to Firefighter Tad Davidson on completing the 24-hour GA Spartan course! This course is a mental and physical test for firefighters looking to improve their skills on the fire scene. We are proud of his success in the class, but especially his drive to be better.
Great job to B and C shift during the two recent fires that broke out over the past few days. If you haven’t noticed, structure fires are more common during the winter months and it’s important to know how to prevent them and how to escape them.
At approximately 1:00 p.m., yesterday, HCFR responded to Sweet Acres Winery in Alto for reports of a commercial fire. B-Shift crews arrived on scene and began to extinguish the flames defensively. The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
Happy 54th Anniversary to Hall County Fire Rescue! Over the years 17 stations have been built, one warehouse, a training center, and an Emergency Services Complex, with over 400 firefighters serving the public every day over three shifts. Thank you for your continued support!
