Today, Council and I celebrated the unveiling of Oakville Transit’s first-ever zero-emissions battery-electric bus as we begin the first phase of our transition to a fully electric transit fleet.

#DYK that approximately 8,000 wildfires occur in Canada annually? Some of these fires are caused by lightning, but just over half are caused by human activity, according to the Gov't. Please be aware of the regulations in your area to keep others safe. #ClimateChange #HCCDYK

#DYK that bar soaps can be more energy efficient? Liquid handwashing soap uses about 5 times more energy in formulation and roughly 20 times more energy in packaging production than bar soap. Cut back on plastic and save energy by buying bar soap! #Environment #HCCDYK

#DYK that LEDs help out the environment? When electricity goes into creating light, some of that energy is expelled through heat. In LEDs, a majority of energy goes towards creating light instead of heat, making them efficient. Do you use LEDs? #ClimateChange #HCCDYK
