I watched a junior admin fix a permission error. He logged into the server. He ran chmod 777 /var/app. The error stopped. He shrugged and said it just needed to work. I asked him if he enjoyed living dangerously or just hated the principle of least privilege. He looked confused and said chmod 777 was standard for dev. I told him 777 means anyone can write. A typo in the wrong directory and the whole server is compromised. He wouldn't know which user actually needed access. I showed him ls -la. The file was owned by the wrong user. chown fixed it without 777. I told him chmod 777 costs us a compliance violation waiting to happen. I made him recite the principle of least privilege before lunch for a week.

HR warned this gen z coworker of mine multiple times against coming to work dressed in casual but his argument was, "As long as I complete all my assigned tasks perfectly I don't think you should be concerned about my dress code." The other day he came in dressed in jeans and open shoes and so HR gave him a 2 weeks suspension. 3 days in and HR noticed alot of stuff at work was failing due to the gen z's absence so he contacted him to get back to office but the gen z is refusing to come back saying 2 weeks aren't over yet

このタイプのCD-Rを使ってた人は、ドライブと本体を繋ぐケーブルは最も短いものを購入して、場合によっては市販のものよりも短いケーブルを自作し、CDを焼いている間は全てのアプリケーションを閉じ、キーボード操作はもとよりマウスも微動だにせず、ライティングが失敗したときは千円札が天国に召されるビジョンが見えた強者だと思う
