To the pre Christian germanic pagans, homosexuality was such a shameful sin that those guilty should not be seen even in death, our ancestors would press the offending homosexual under the bog with a wicker basket until they drowned. This ended with the Christianisation of Europe.
Something to consider next time a Christian calls paganism gay.

Listen to BMSS all you want, but everything that made this band interesting for me >10 years ago has faded. The mystique is totally gone, and I can’t avoid the feeling that a majority of people that listen are motivated more by edgy contrarianism than anything else.

It’s remarkable how few works by Jan de Vries are available in English, given his status. I am planning to change that. I already translated "De goden der Germanen" a few years ago but did not publish it. This year, however, I will. After that, I will begin work on some of his other writings.
