There’s a type of finance bro who thinks they can wander into a technical domain, read a few papers, talk to a few experts and suddenly operate at a professional level. I can imagine that a reasonably smart kid who wanders into investment markets, reads a handful of technical papers on a subject and makes some money comes by the mistaken impression that he isn’t a layman. That person will make even more technical errors than an actual layman.
