A human created heuristic overcomes the core difficulty with any ML/AI is that they are not actually intelligent and have no true conception of the world, just a derived one.

Sorry everyone I think I’m done and I’m going to take a permanent rest. I’ve loved being part of the Ruby community, especially after moving to Shopify where I made a couple of friends who were super supportive of my issues in the past year.

@andreasklinger @HamptonMakes We had a debate on it couple of years ago if you remember. Do you think it's still true that AI can't code. 🤔😇

GPT-4 can code like a human. This means the job of a programmer is now about planning and explaining to an AI what you need. Obviously the AI won’t always get it right at first & you annoyingly have to explain it again. We developers will watch ourselves becoming this meme 👇

The next time somebody says "you can just run your own instance" I am going to spit in their fucking face, I have been trying to install Mastodon on a server for 7 hours.

@HamptonMakes I was thinking about this and I don’t think there’s really a great way to do this, but I’m not sure I fully understand how Mastodon is suppose to work. I think if you had your own domain, you wouldn’t get all notifications for communities like ruby.social
