@lw_writes Sad teens have always and will always need 'cliche' - because something becomes a cliche because it's seen a lot, and it's probably seen a lot because it's a fairly universal human experience, there's something really comforting about knowing that everyone else is miserable too.

I'll never forget being a sad teen and finding the grainy live recording of the world is ugly. It changed so much because, yeah, the world is ugly, but you're beautiful. I typed out the lyrics and stuck them to my bedroom ceiling

@Clareyrobwrites @KatieA_M I get the exact same thing! My boy has quite long, curly, blonde hair and big blue eyes, and people give that as their reason for thinking he's a girl. And then he'll say something like, no I'm a tiger dog.

@samatlounge One interesting thing about this thread is that they can't decide how the Handmaid's Tale analogy works? Some say they are the Handmaids (bc defending women's rights?), others that the non-TERF women are the Handmaids (bc taken advantage of by men?)
