Many thanks to Kidney Research UK for funding this study and to @amarpreet_thind who has been the terrific researcher running it. The study is now finished and the papers are being written. The insights gained will aid the difficult decisions round transplantation in older people

Kidney patients across the UK are being disproportionately affected by the cost of living crisis. Many of the 5,000 home dialysis patients do not receive adequate or timely reimbursement for their costs, & some receive nothing at all.

Acute kidney injury after noncardiac surgery is not uncommon and has a health impact. In an article by @JamiePrivratsky and colleagues, younger females were at lower odds of postoperative acute kidney injury than females of older age and males of all ages. ow.ly/STpo50MqIna
