The last tab a founder ever opens to start a business has been closed. @doolaHQ is integrated with @claudeai and @Replit. You can now form a US LLC without leaving the AI chat you’re already in. First business formation platform to do it. Start one in your next prompt.

Sarea 0.8 is out 🦁 Native macOS agent client — now with Claude Code bundled for instant first-launch. What's new: → Smooth streaming + tool call UI à la Claude Code → 8 MCP connectors (Slack, Linear, Notion…) with one-click OAuth → CoreSpeed AI Gateway integration → Scheduled automations with permission policies → Sidebar drag-reorder & new Start screen sarea.ai

What if we see MCP as another RPC layer with better auth, schema discovery, and permission control? Existing RPCs are a mess. gRPC never got wide adoption, doesn't work in browsers without the grpc-web hack (they could've just used WebSocket). RESTful and OpenAPI are no better. Why not ditch all of that and just go straight to MCP?

Soo…skip straight to TCP, gRPC, REST, Websocket, or CLI wrapper…and delete MCP? That is my central point. We could have avoided the entire MCP distraction. The primary feature of MCP is AuthN and client-side method-based permission. However, undeniably, there is value in standardisation…which I would argue we already had. We could have a far more general solution without relinquishing true streaming.

I changed my mind. MCP can be wonderful. It just needs to be light and purpose-built and engineered instead of a shitty shim over your existing REST API
braai engineer@BraaiEngineer

@garrytan MCP was a very costly mistake, but useful as an adoption vector (for now). Should have repurposed gRPC. We could have saved 6-24 months. x.com/braaiengineer/…

If gRPC had been based on WebSocket instead of full-duplex HTTP, it would have vastly broader support on the web today. We wouldn't need gRPC-web, we could just speak gRPC in browsers. We wouldn't need special support for gRPC in proxies since they all support WebSocket already.

We handle auth. We handle billing. We handle observability. Devs keep asking: "How do I handle OAuth after integrating with mcp-gateway?" You don't. That's the whole point. Before MCP Gateway: → Build OAuth flow from scratch → Implement token validation → Set up billing infrastructure → Add usage tracking → Debug auth issues at 2am After MCP Gateway: → Deploy your MCP server → Done. We handle auth. We handle billing. We handle observability. You handle shipping.

@sy1ve0n @WindowsUI Just tried it on Windows 10, seems like it is 11 only for now. DesktopAcrylicController.IsSupported() will return false on Windows 10.
