Last Eid, Leo was with me.
He would sit beside me, walk around me, and share those small Eid moments with us as if he were a member of the family.
I never imagined that another Eid would come…
and Leo wouldn’t be there.
This Eid feels different.
There is an empty space I feel in every moment, as if a part of my heart is missing.
Leo was not just a cat to me.
He was a true friend, a companion during the hardest days we lived through here in Gaza.
Even when everything around us was difficult, having him beside me gave me a little comfort.
Now Eid has come again…
but Leo is not here to share it with me.
Some small hearts leave a mark that never fades.
And some absences remain painful no matter how much time passes.
If you have ever lost an animal you loved…
