So much horror on this media right now, Im finding it hard to focus on the business in hand, my popup gallery in @thecanopysligo so I will just try to concentrate on posting natural beauty for the foreseeable! Enniscrone, La Palma and Norway for starters.

If I magically woke up overweight here are 3 powerful things I would do to get back in better shape than 99% of the population:
1) Eat 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight daily
Everyone talks about eating more protein.
But no one tells you why.
Protein is the most powerful macronutrient.
How?
It's more satiating, helps you burn more calories, and is more anabolic than carbs and fats.
This means eating more protein will help you both consume less calories and burn more.
You'll burn off 25% of the calories you consume from it, you'll be full throughout the day, and it'll help you build muscle which turns you into a fat burning machine.
A great way to hit 1g per lb daily is to divide your bodyweight by however many meals you eat per day and eat that much per meal.
Some great protein sources to base your meals around:
- eggs
- beef
- turkey
- chicken
- seafood
- whey protein
2) Walk 10,000 steps per day
You hear this number all the time because it's a great movement habit.
Walking more helps you burn calories, curbs your appetite, improves your mood & energy, and lowers your stress levels.
The more you walk the more you decrease your risk of early death and the simpler it is to get in shape.
A great way to hit the 10,000 number is to:
- find a walking buddy
- take walks while on calls
- take your dog on more walks
- go on a family walk every evening
- go on a sunrise walk in the morning
- pair walking with something enjoyable (podcasts, music, etc)
Make it a priority to walk more and you will lose fat, be healthier, and get in shape quicker.
3) Lift weights 3-5x per week
Protein is powerful, but it's more powerful if you lift weights.
It gets put to use for rebuilding muscle tissue.
You don't need to spend hours in the gym daily to build muscle.
You can build muscle in as little as 2-3 hours per week.
Muscle building is a straight forward process that people love to overcomplicate.
Here's what you need to focus on:
- Do 2-3 sets per exercise per workout
- Train each muscle group 2x every 7-10 days
- Lift more weight or reps from session to session
- Make sure your last rep of each set ends near failure to stimulate growth
- Track your workouts to guarantee you are seeing progress over time
Muscle isn't built in your workouts, it is built with proper rest and recovery.
This is why training just 3-5x per week and not overdoing it is superior to training for hours daily.
Focus on coming back and beating your previous numbers every single week and you are guaranteed to grow.
As you add more muscle over time you will enhance your metabolic health and become the best looking version of yourself.
Quick summary - 3 powerful habits to get in shape:
1) Eat 1g protein per pound bodyweight daily
2) Take 10,000 steps per day
3) Lift weights 3-5x per week
