Yesterday I told you job hunting has a dirty secret: tracking where you applied is harder than the interviews. Today I'm fixing it. Meet ApplyJI 👇 One place for every application you send jobs and internships. → See every company you applied to, all in one view → Know instantly who replied, who ghosted, what's still open → Never miss a deadline buried in your inbox again No more spreadsheets. No more "wait, did I already apply here?" I built it because I was living that mess myself. It's live now → applyji.online

If you're job hunting right now and tired of running it out of a spreadsheet, you can try it here → applyji.online Still early, still rough in places genuinely want to know what's missing. 👀

ApplyJi day 1: 👤 8 users ✨ 8 of them brand new ⏱️ 90 seconds average time on site Not viral. Not huge. But 8 real people used the thing I built yesterday and that's 8 more than zero. 👇

Job hunting has a dirty secret: the hardest part isn't the interviews. It's keeping track of the 40 places you applied to. Which ones replied. Which ghosted. Which deadline you quietly missed. I got tired of running my job search out of a messy spreadsheet so I built something to kill that mess for good. Full reveal tomorrow 👇

@marclou me, day 7 of building with 32 followers, watching my village stay a single sad campfire 😅 incredible idea though turning a dashboard into a reason to actually want more traffic is genius.

I asked Claude Fable 5 to build a game on top of my web analytics API. It made DataEmpire: Every visitor to your site is a villager. They chop trees 🌳 build houses 🏠 and turn a campfire 🔥🏕️ into an empire as your traffic grows. The Age of Legends unlocks at 1M visitors. Only 2 of my startups made it (ShipFast & TrustMRR). Demo: DataEmpire.DataFa.st If you have a @DataFast_ account, you can replay your own site's history.

Should I keep my current site (A: clean, safe) or rebuild it with Fable 5 (B: bolder, fully designed)? A or B 👀

Not all AI tools are equal. Claude Fable 5 builds visuals and full websites that actually look designed not "AI-generated." The trade-off nobody mentions: it burns through tokens fast. Here's when it's worth every one of them 👇 I gave it one prompt: "a landing page for applyji." What came back had a real layout, real type choices, spacing that breathed. The kind of thing that usually takes me a weekend. Then I checked the usage. One page ate roughly 36% of daily tokens. So I stopped treating it like a toy and started treating it like a specialist. Now my rule is simple: → Rough draft, throwaway test, quick idea? Use a cheaper model. → Anything a client or customer will actually see? Fable 5, no hesitation. The tokens aren't the cost. Redoing mediocre work three times is the cost. Fable 5 gets it right the first time and that's the math nobody runs.

spent all day going back and forth on my landing page and now I genuinely can't tell which is better. bold & punchy (1) or clean & classic (2)? roast them, I can take it. Day 7/30 🚢

@marclou the "I lost hope" part hits. nobody shows that bit. I'm on day 4 of my own 30-day build and already had one of those nights. seeing 512 days framed honestly makes the long road feel survivable. thank you for documenting the ugly parts.

I documented my SaaS journey to $20K MRR. It took 512 days. I got excited, I cried, I laughed, I lost hope. I got literally every moment on camera. This video is the raw story of what building a startup actually feels like.

spent money on a domain before the product is even fully live this is either commitment or a cry for help applyji.online - an AI job tracker that reads your inbox so you never touch an application spreadsheet again Day 4/30. no going back now.

@Shammah_Jnr @marclou beta access is the one I underrated. makes "free" feel like a privilege instead of a discount. did that work for anything you built?

Remove your free plan. Free users are leeches. They increase support, server costs, and make you build features your paying customers don’t want. Less than 3% of free users ever convert. VC startups can afford free plans because they’re optimizing for growth, not profit. If you’re an indie founder, never give away your product for free.

@marclou @jackfriks this is the kind of feedback i wish every builder got. honest, visual, and meant to help not just a vague "no". respect for building it this way.

I built a feature that makes startup feedback impossible to ignore ☠️❌ When someone submits their launch for review, @jackfriks and I can now send back: - a clear rejection reason - screenshots of what needs fixing - and a public “sent back to port” post Not to shame people. To make the next version better 🤗
SHIP OR DIE@shipordie_

☠️❌ the crew rejected another startup @jdi_minisoul's startup Subpay was sent back to port by @marclou. why: "I was about to accept but I realized I could add something here :) - Hero is awesome! - How is works is a bit confusing, I find the iphone demo not really clear and add too much noise when in fact your product is quite simple! - Image 1: I think the step 2 of how it works could be in the hero section. Instant AHAH moment - Image 2: Gumroad pricing comparision is a bit confusing. I added suggestions - FAQ? My first question was: how am i going to get paid? Good luck!" 🔎 subpay.me fix it. resubmit. ship.

nobody tells you the hardest part of building isn't the code. it's showing up on day 14 when nobody's watching, nothing's working, and quitting would be so easy. what keeps you going?
