@jameszimmermann Pretty good argument for state electorate. It's criminal that the prescription to ensure that large states don't overpower small ones is being ignored within a state to ensure 1 or 2 cities don't dictate the entire state.

Nashville is a prime example of “shift one city to shift the whole state”. Leftists control the symphony, Vanderbilt University, the mayorship and more – I’ve been here about 20 years and the Californication of Tennessee is undeniable, and it’s most prominent in our capital city.

Austin isn't big enough to swing the entire state blue, but if cities like Dallas and Houston become more like Austin - then you could have a California style shift. In smaller states with one major city - all you have to do is take over that city to shift the entire culture. The wealthy people moving to Texas have some obligation to leave their politics behind and realize their contribution to ruining places like California.
