Can we please not forget that Netanyahu historically supported & empowered Hamas in order to sabotage any possibility of a two-state solution & peace. Netanyahu reportedly said in 2019- “Those who want to thwart the possibility of a Palestinian state should support the strengthening of Hamas and the transfer of money to Hamas.” Former Israeli PM Ehud Barak said in 2019, “Netanyahu’s strategy is to keep Hamas alive and kicking ... even at the price of abandoning the citizens (of the south ) ... because it is easier with Hamas to explain to Israelis that there is no one to sit with and no one to talk to” The former head of Shin Bet, Yuval Diskin, said in 2013, “If we look at it over the years, one of the main people contributing to Hamas’s strengthening has been Bibi Netanyahu, since his first term as PM” So yes- unequivocally condemn Hamas. But condemn Netanyahu as well. Neither wants peace.

An urgent pivot is needed in Pakistan’s approach towards local handset manufacturing. Out of 67.7 million handsets assembled/manufactured locally since 2020, only 22.9 million were smartphones. While countries are retiring 2G/3G networks to free up bandwidth for more efficient 4G, ensuring our populace is tech-ready is paramount. This calls for a decisive move by the government: cutting the cord on both the import and local assembly of 2G/3G phones and prioritizing the production of quality 4G-enabled smartphones. This step not only accelerates our digital journey but also positions Pakistan for significant export opportunities. Our overarching goal should be to place a smartphone in every hand through affordable installment plans, rather than focusing on feature phones. With widespread 4G access, digital adoption will surge, unlocking immense socio-economic opportunities for the people of Pakistan. 6 Things That Should be on the Mind of Every 🇵🇰 IT Export Oriented Business Leader & CEO, (as part of the SIFC agenda) The fastest things that the Saudi🇸🇦 +UAE🇦🇪+Kuwait🇰🇼 + Qatar🇶🇦 group can bring to 🇵🇰 (if we ask) insofar as tech growth & exports are concerned have to be 1) Some level of priority market access to allow all the large call center infra players in Pakistan to bid for and get the Call Center work that is seeing explosive growth in these markets 2) For the immense amount of contracts/contractual work happening in these markets locally(across industries), there is value added work in using AI with human intervention to structure and classify data, for the large data lakes organizations are building to enable them to build searchable content. We have the existing capacity and manpower to be the "technical partners" to help execute this. We should be productizing this as an offering across the large tech companies. 3) Allow technical resources who work for @PASHAORG member companies and @PSEB registered entities to have access to a)Visa Free entry to these markets b)Access to Local co working spaces/incubators/accelerators in these markets so they can participate in the ecosystem and showcase their work c)Create a Special Class across these two organizations for Solopreneurs who want to participate in this journey and make it easy to sign up 4) Work with the Sovereign funds and local funds, to showcase the technology + SaaS products built by the existing 🇵🇰 companies and startups to allow access to capital in one direction and the rails to scale in the other 5) Most of the markets have local points of presence for global cloud providers, we need to canvas our state led institutions to a)Allow for them to be treated as near shore/onshore for purposes of data retention, b)work to get in-expensive access to these so that our tech companies that have a $ outflow issue have a fighting chance for growth by using this infrastructure 6) A special SCRA(Special Convertible Rupee Account)/type account allowance to IT exporters , IT Freelancers & Startups to hold said funds in FCY, and remit funds outwards without pre-approvals for their business needs. The silver lining in working with these Governments is that we have instant ability to monetize our Tech Industries existing human & technical capacity. The challenge would remain to frame this as a net-contributor to the overall investment dialogues we are undertaking at a G2G Level. Heres to hoping this is on our agenda as we drive these conversations forward. #PakistanStrong
