What a brilliant question. So hard to think of a decent answer. She (Mel) had a BLT (on brown) on a break - best I can do.

#WritingCommunity What's the last thing your main character did for themselves, and not for anyone else?

#WritingCommunity When scoping out your story, what's your approach? 1 - Plan the whole thing A-Z then write it? 2 - You know the end, write backwards from there? 3 - You have an idea, start writing & let it evolve? #harrystuff

@DouglasSkelton1 @AuthorMonika Leith in Edinburgh has a vibrant Polish community. I write crime thrillers based there and I've just introduced a pathologist called Klaudia Grześkiewicz. I had lessons on how to pronounce that.

@harry_writer Perhaps omit a small amount of detail. It's good, but it's a bit much to take in at once. Sounds interesting though!

#writingcommunity What do you think of my opening para? When Celia Fraser, who only had one arm and was aged 67, had left her Edinburgh home that morning to go shopping with her granddaughter and her dog, she could never have imagined that two of the three wouldn’t make it home

@maggiedavieswr1 @Gerbera4U Congratulations. For me the key elements of the review is how well researched your work is. No matter how great the story, if the research is lacking or flawed it will detract from the quality of the book.

@_TomSouthern Thanks Tom. Think "Had" needs to stay in - pluperfect tense. I'll think about rewording the last bit though. Who survives? Cute puppy, the wee girl, or the dear old lady? 😎

Sharing 1st para of my 2nd crime thriller, Six Six Six. When Celia Fraser, who only had one arm and was aged 67, had left her Edinburgh home that morning to go shopping with her granddaughter and her dog, she could never have imagined that two of the three wouldn’t make it home.
