One of the cops involved has 21 misconduct allegations, was formally disciplined for lying on a police report, and is part of a misconduct lawsuit dating back to 2019 where he’s accused of doing the exact same things seen in these videos.
He should’ve been fired years ago.

There are a number of videos circulating online of an incident that occurred yesterday inside a store in Brooklyn involving two members of the NYPD. As I said at a press conference earlier today, these videos are deeply disturbing, and the matter is under active investigation by the NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau. The officers in question are modified. Their guns and shields have been removed.

NEW: The FBI and Federal prosecutors in New York say they've charged Sean Pildes, the leader of "SantaCon" an annual charity fundraiser in NYC, with allegedly pocketing a significant amount of the proceeds himself. Pildes was arrested this morning and charged with wire fraud.

Israel carried out a “triple tap,” killing three medical workers and wounding six, outside of Nabatieh today.
Paramedics were trying to rescue wounded from an airstrike, when they were struck. Another ambulance came to rescue the medical workers and was struck. A third rescue attempt was made, and that ambulance was struck too. A paramedic remains missing.
Israel has killed over 90 healthcare workers in Lebanon in about six weeks.

A new study by @cashmank_ at @Cmmonwealth's argues that with an $8 billion investment, Cuba could cover 93 % of its electricity needs and no longer need to import fossil fuels for electricity generation. The report also argues that Cuba’s transition can be achieved through international financing. And that this is a test of whether climate commitments, including commitments advanced at COP27 & COP28, can be honoured in practice. The report details a number of concrete mechanisms to achieve this.
