@nkmidoriphis You can use a binary package to install LocalStack if you don't have Python or pip installed: docs.localstack.cloud/aws/getting-st… Alternatively, you can also use Docker or Docker Compose to start LocalStack without needing to install the CLI. Details are in the above docs link :)

@suyashpurwar06 Thanks for sharing. Our initial focus was on building the core API surface to make it easy to run local dev/test loops (with SDK, CLI, IaC, etc.). We have now been expanding our Resource Browser feature set, and we're open to feedback to understand better how we can improve.

The dashboard is not as feature-rich as the API. Working with bucket and object-level ACLs didn't seem very intuitive. Nonetheless, the LocalStack team's work is commendable. I can only imagine how difficult it is to keep up with the AWS API developments.

@singhals_ @modal_labs @localstack For the last part, I didn't get the DB management part much! You can hook into any of the emulated databases being run by LocalStack (RDS, DynamoDB, Snowflake) with your DB tool and it should work similarly to the real cloud. Is there more to it that you were expecting? (3/3)

@singhals_ @modal_labs @localstack We are currently working on a Replicator mode for LocalStack that would bring your production environment to your local machine, to fiddle and play with (without touching the real cloud!). The current implementation allows for one-time reproduction & send proxy requests (2/3).

Found myself coming back to this video quite a bit (youtube.com/watch?v=3jJ1Gh…) Curious why lambda/cloudrun don't offer as clean a devex like @modal_labs does? (maybe they do and I'm unaware). Unsure of the technical details that might block this - any pointers here to learn more?

@modal_labs Specifically around development/deployment gap and splitting the workload between local and cloud. I've used @localstack before (for s3/dynamo) but it's does seem like quite a different set of primitives that modal provides

Do I know anyone who has been able to get Localstack Pro working with VSCode dev containers running in WSL2 on a Windows host? I’m losing my mind getting this to work.

localstackでlambda使う時にlayerのmoduleが参照できなくて layerのARNを参照確認したり、 layerのzipの仕方みたり、 1日かけて調査してもわからなかったんだけど なんと、 localstackではlayerの呼び出しはproじゃないと使えないんだと デプロイできるから使えるかと、😭 デプロイはできるんかい！笑

@zaru Hi — SAM uses CloudFormation under the hood. Currently, the UPDATE operation for various CloudFormation resources are not very well supported. (reference: #resources" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.localstack.cloud/user-guide/aws…) As a fix, please restart LocalStack before each re-deployment to remove all the resources.

LocalStackにsamlocalでデプロイしているんだけど、リソース名を固定にすると再デプロイで失敗する。かといってリソース名をCFnのランダム文字列が付いた状態だとデバッグがやりにくい。どうしたらいいんだ。
