The thing I keep thinking about this season is, across the totality of the post-2001 landscape of Mariners fandom, blowing a 10-game lead to the Astros in the division in 24 games and potentially finishing under .500 is probably the worst thing that’s ever happened.

@marygooneratne The badminton analogy seems bad because the shuttlecock actually goes a lot faster than a tennis ball on a smaller court. I feel like ping pong or pickleball works better there. Besides, I think there are way worse sports they could cut. Race walking? Dressage???

@marygooneratne Also I agree with you on golf but probably for a different reason. Golf in the Olympics is just a tournament of the same players as the PGA so there's not really a big point to it. These guys already face each other almost every week for higher stakes

A couple oddities from the AP scores this year: 1. I had a student fail the first semester of computer science and get a 4 on the AP exam. 2. Another student got an A+ in my AP class and a 5 on the exam. He also didn't graduate this year because he failed regular English 12.
