It's because of the Polished Man campaign. If you paint just one nail out of ten (one out of five fingers), people usually ask, "Why is there polish on only one finger?" It's a way to spark that curiosity so you can explain it.
The campaign is meant to raise awareness that one in five children grows up in a bad home environment, receiving poor treatment and living in harmful conditions.
