i get sad thinking about aangs life and how it was never really his own. being the avatar plus the last airbender was an insane burden to carry from such a young age & he handled it so well that when it was visible that he was struggling people would write it off as immaturity

i resent the idea that aangs grief can be "dealt with" and boxed away like just another plotline. he's a sole genocide survivor, that's not something you outgrow or get over. if anything it gets harder to cope with the older he gets, which the movie does a great job in showing.
