#WATCH | Delhi: At the ANI National Security Summit 2.0, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh says, "...We stopped it (Operation Sindoor) voluntarily, on our own terms, and if necessary, we were fully prepared for a long war. And we also had surge capacity, the ability to expand our capabilities in times of sudden need. Not only did we have it, but we still have it, and it's even more robust than before. Therefore, I don't think there's any need to say anything more..." "During Operation Sindoor, we precisely targeted those who had attacked us. And I want to clarify here again that we didn't stop this operation because our capabilities had diminished. We stopped it voluntarily, on our own terms, and if necessary, we were fully prepared for a long war. And we also had surge capacity, the ability to expand our capabilities in times of sudden need. Not only did we have it, but we still have it, and it's even more robust than before. Therefore, I don't think there's any need to say anything more..."

Ok I am getting tired of this. I wish Pakistan well with the talks but FFS, enough of the Pak nationalism (and Indian alarm). Iceland hosted really important US-Soviet talks in the Cold War. It didn’t change its status. It’s a venue, not a redrawing of the world map.

Pakistan’s role has shifted from facilitator and go-between to direct mediator and peace negotiator (amid reports of 3-way talks taking place in Islamabad). For now at least, Pakistan’s in the driver’s seat in the difficult & delicate effort to guide the US & Iran to an off ramp.

Vice President JD Vance is now the highest ranking U.S. official to hold face-to-face talks with Iranian officials since the Iranian Revolution in 1979.

Scathing piece: Journalists flown in from around the world to cover US-Iran talks in Islamabad were left sipping coffee in a lavish media centre, with no briefings, no access and little idea what was happening outside. One journalist said, “bored out of my mind.” france24.com/en/live-news/2…
