Togashi is interested in having AI draw his manga.😭 He said that aspiring mangaka should focus on learning how to write stories because they do not have time to hone their drawing skills, so I get the impression that Togashi may not enjoy the drawing side of manga creation.🥺

Long Tweet🔔: The 1st page contains probably the most important information in the chapter, but even the official Viz English translation loses the subtle nuances in Oda’s complex Japanese.😭 Here is my explanation. Both Joy Boy and Imu speak like *children of around ten years old*, and Imu appears to be recalling their very first encounter.🥺 Although they both sound like children, their speech patterns are not exactly the same. Joy Boy speaks in a rougher, more casual manner, while Imu sounds more polite and well brought up.🥰 Joy Boy says, “Ōtō seyo,” which means “Respond” or “Come in.” In Japanese, this expression normally sounds formal and rather adult-like. However, Oda writes it entirely in hiragana instead of using kanji. This allows Japanese readers to sense that the speaker (Joy Boy) is actually a child trying to use grown-up language.💡 It may also be significant that the chapter begins with the word “Respond.” This could be a deliberate reference to Chapter 1108 and Vegapunk’s momentous broadcast: “Respond, World.”🔥 Long ago, Joy Boy called out to the world and happened to reach Imu. 800 years later, Imu has become a lonely symbol of that very world.🥺 When Imu asks Joy Boy who he is, Joy Boy hesitates and pauses to think before answering, “I’m Joy Boy.” This may suggest that Joy Boy is not his real name and that, for some reason, he did not want to reveal his true name or identity.🤔 After Imu introduces themself, the line ends with two exclamation marks, whereas Joy Boy’s introduction ends with three. This indicates that Joy Boy is speaking more loudly than Imu.🔥
