It's interesting how I've had a few responses to this saying "class doesn't matter/I don't see class," "chav isn't a classed term," or "Polly and Holly deserve it [the abuse they're receiving]"

“Even when individuals from working-class backgrounds are successful in entering the country’s elite occupations they go on to earn, on average, 16% less than colleagues from more privileged backgrounds.” (@SamFriedmanSoc & @Daniel_Laurison 2020: 209).

Economic Capital is probably the most straight forward to understand. However the effect of lack of economic capital can be many and not always obvious, stress and anxiety connected to not having a financial safety net can be paralysing. #class #workingclass #economiccapital
