Orange County residents have witnessed a massive increase in ad valorem tax collections since 2020. During that time, they have increased their general fund by more than 50%, a number that far outpaces the county’s 10% population growth for that same period. They have used part of this new revenue to fund ideological DEI initiatives and grant projects that do nothing to serve the people they are elected to represent. When questioned about this by our state DOGE team, county officials stonewalled auditors, read prepared remarks in interviews, and several flags were raised by our audit teams that suggest efforts to conceal information. Today I joined CFO Blaise Ingoglia (@GovGoneWild) to announce his issuance of subpoenas to county employees to assure we are receiving full cooperation with our audit. One way or another, Florida’s DOGE teams will obtain the information we are seeking.
