@haz_fox My wr is definitely fast enough but A I can’t register it (or it would cost a lot if I did) and B a 6 speed would be so much better if I wanna ride with my mates who have street bikes

Paid rego + New battery woohooo Turns out the old battery dying was a symptom, and not the issue, though. Voltage regulator is fried. Thankfully, that's a cheap part to replace!
