why drone regulation matters 👇 most people don’t realize how limited drones still are today. we see delivery demos, viral videos, and flashy prototypes. but behind the scenes, the rules have kept real innovation grounded. in the united states, every drone flight today happens under part 107, which says a pilot must always keep the drone within visual line of sight. that means no long routes, no fully autonomous missions, and no true scaling. it’s like trying to build the internet but only being allowed to send one email at a time. but that’s about to change. the faa is introducing part 108, a new framework that will allow drones to fly beyond visual line of sight safely, legally, and routinely. this is the rule that unlocks the sky. it’s the foundation that turns drones from cool gadgets into real infrastructure. delivery. inspection. emergency response. agriculture. all powered by autonomy. for hummingbird, this is what we’ve been waiting for. the moment when drones stop being experiments and start becoming a network.
