A 7th grader was so excited to show me his newest @Desmos creations today! He created some "games" and is loving the new 3D graphing calculator! @BryanD205 @d205stem

Had to squeeze in one more team building activity before summer! Students were given a picture of a completed Lego vehicle and had to figure out how to build it together. They had a blast! @BryanD205

My PLC brainstormed ways to get kids to explain their steps in greater detail. The intro activity was having them verbally describe a house to their partner. Then, students practiced writing & explaining their steps to solving equations! @BryanD205 @k_scaliatine @ItsTerrillTime

My 7th graders have been wanting to celebrate 100 day all year, and the day finally arrived! Highlights included making crowns and team building by putting together 100-piece puzzles (without the box!) 💙 @BryanD205 #100daysofschool

@cmmteach My first year teaching, another teacher encouraged me to mail thank you cards. He said it's worth the cost of a stamp and their parents also see that you acknowledged the gift. I've been doing it every year since then!

@OhHeyMrJ @JacquieDiscipio Looks awesome! Thank you for all your donations and supporting #BryanStuCo!!

@MrsSheehanMath I personally don't want them on Chromebooks and want something independent/quiet so they don't disturb others. My go-tos: "play with your math", Extreme Dot-to-dot, sudoku, logic puzzles, or simply read/draw/write a thank you note.

What are your favorite things for students to do after a test?
We have 82 min blocks. One of my classes has assessments like every other week (it’s a very fast paced class). I don’t want to give them homework and some students need more time than others. #mtbos #iteachmath

@PrincipalHerion I am... I'm determined to get my starting word and then retire from it. Hopefully that happens soon!

Also, found these Izzi puzzles recently and LOVE how students work & chat together during brain break to put it together. @BryanD205

Each day, my Ss can earn up to a 5 min brain break and do something that is no-tech. On Fridays, they can use their chromebook. Happy to see that most students chose no-tech today! They love making spinners with these hashtag pieces from Target and race them! @BryanD205

@PrincipalHerion @CantignyPark Cool! I love @CantignyPark ! Brainstorming a possible field trip there with @MsHirschSS7 !

Thank you to @CantignyPark for a great start to our 8th grade field trip! #mmsfalcons #WEARED83 #D83shines

These activity books from @DollarTree are perfect for my "I'm done, now what?" bulletin board! I just rip out pages and put them in the pockets! My students have been enjoying the variety of puzzles and activities this year! 💙 @BryanD205 #weareD205

And yes, those are @saravdwerf 's name tents on their desks, too! Been using them all week! Learning so much about my students!
English

Thank you @saravdwerf !! Your 100 numbers task was PERFECT after we discussed what we do and don't like people to say during group work! Students were so engaged, helpful, communicated... perfect way to end week 1! 💙 @BryanD205

English

Week one done! ✅️
This continues to be a favorite activity every year: students discuss things they like & don't like people to say during group work, how to help someone without giving them the answer, etc. We then make a class agreement to display all year 💙 @BryanD205
