@SomersetCamper @Tesco How are people supposed to complete their shopping in 1hr. Very unfair policy and certainly not well thought out. Time to shop elsewhere if they don't sort this out.

@Tesco It would seem you want to prevent genuine shopping in your stores. My son got a parking charge for just 1h20 in a large TescoExtra carpark. Do you really want to limit time for food shopping+browsing clothing & everything else? Please review & cancel this unfair charge.

Pretty squally overnight, 66mph at Pembrey Sands and 71mph at the Needles. Surprisingly wet in the last 24 hrs with over 60mm at Whitebarrow in Devon and Crai in Brecon. Cold front weakened in the SE with lower rainfall totals . Certainly pretty squally here last night. Gusts fairly widespread into the 50s mph From NCI's Hengistbury Head to Gosport to Rame Head.

Sunday's low (Mothering Sunday weekend) is still causing the models some issues, UKMO has moved NW whilst the ECMWF has moved SE. . Today's multi model comparison shows we are in good agreement up to Thurs/Thurs Night, but then whilst we maintain unsettled weather in all models we get disagreement on the detail. MOGREPS G nicely highlights there is not agreement on a particular timing or solution yet. The ECMWF postage stamps show a considerable number of unsettled solutions

Still considerable uncertainty with developments later next week, though the trend in the last 24 hrs has been to move more towards the ECMWF solution of greater chance of Jet Diverting more to the NW of the UK, With trough disruption more likely or at least a partial disruption over the UK. (The Extending trough over the UK, forcing the meridional pattern to persist despite the models earlier ideas of a more zonal pattern dominating) much as @peacockreports James suggested yesterday, we may yet not see a return to the very disturbed pattern suggested. The Next low coming NE out of Canada is also not well modeled, with the low in 3 quite different launching locations come the end of next week. This ultimately leading to different long term solutions.

Growing confidence this morning in a very active Jet Core emanating out of the NE US and SE Canada is likely to propagate over the North Atlantic towards the UK , Starting next weds a period of much more unsettled Atlantic Dominated weather with frequent rain and wind. Models are oscillating between taking depressions across the UK and skirting to the NW of the UK, but this is due to changes in the orientation of the Jet in the modelling. However Models and Ensembles are growing in confidence of an increasingly unsettled spell of weather. though it is not yet certain on trajectories of lows.

Some indications are starting to show that as we go into next week and towards Mid Month we will see an invigorated Jet Stream piling out of North America once again, and at least for a time a more zonal flow in the Atlantic Sector. This has the potential to propagate over the Atlantic with both the ECMWF and the GFS and their ensembles showing a good chance of a return to much more unsettled conditions for a time. This had been showing for this week but has been pushed back . We will have to see if it materializes this time. Certainly both models seem to suggest an increased risk of some quite deep cyclogenesis is possible. However this was also progged for the turn of the month and it hasn't happened with the high remaining blocking to the East and the Jet ended up weaker than expected or at least not extending as far east as initially expected. We will have to watch model runs over the coming few days to see what happens.
