Dodgers closer Edwin Díaz is slated to undergo surgery to remove loose bodies in his right elbow, according to a source. The expectation is he’ll miss somewhere in the neighborhood of three months. @FabianArdaya was first on the procedure.

Per @JeffPassan, the Mets are in on Devin Williams. Williams had a career-high 4.79 ERA with the Yankees last season and was 18 for 22 in save opportunities. He was an All-Star with the Brewers in 2022 and 2023 and converted 68 of 78 save opportunities in his six seasons in Milwaukee. Passan adds, "Williams has suitors from coast to coast, though the Mets are mulling the opportunity to sign (Edwin) Díaz and Williams to head up a bullpen in need of a total restructuring."
