According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Anthony Bassi was arrested on March 9 and charged with open or gross lewdness after videos circulated online showing a man performing sexual acts around the UNR campus. In one clip, other people can be seen sitting in front of him while the video is recorded. The videos were posted to an X account that also promoted an OnlyFans page. Both accounts have since been deleted. Several individuals told campus media they recognized him in the videos. The story has sparked mixed reactions online. Many people find the behavior disturbing or inappropriate, while others on the internet openly admit they find that kind of exhibitionist content “hot.” However, under Nevada law, performing explicit sexual acts in public places where others may see them can be considered open or gross lewdness, a criminal charge that can carry up to 364 days in jail and fines up to $2,000.
