One is a human that wanted to be a IA. The other is a IA that wanted to be a human. The tragedy of Caine is that he will never be a human bc he doesn't have emphaty. And that's why Jax's redemption is possible, bc he has it even in his denial.

#tadc #tadcep8 I'd like to share one last analysis for now: The parallelisms between Jax and Caine and why one has the possibility to growth and change while the other is doom to fail in every way possible.

As the rest of the members said in ep 8, Caine never could bc he is unable to care about human emotion. If he can't connect, he can't care. That's why his break down closes him even more in his ego. Bc he can't think in the pain of anyone else but himself.

But here is when they are different. Jax has the capacity to care. He cared before and he cares now. He has empathy, he can connect with emotions. He had friends when Kofmo and Ribbit were alive and he could connect with Pomni even after that lost. He, after all, is human.

Jax said he sees everyone as an archetype in ep 6. For Caine humans are data, a puzzle he has to resolve to achive the goal. Both are applying deshumanization. If they don't see people then the problem is less complex and the solution is avoidment.

This is similar to Caine bc he also wants to belong. Caine is coded to please. And every pleaser wants people return what they gave. The problem with Caine is that he doesn't have the capacity to actually connect with any human. Bc he can't show or feel real empathy.

But the thing is there is no way for a human to stop being human. He craves for conection like anybody else. That's why he is so attached to Pomni. She feels real, maybe if he follows her, he can start feeling less empty. He wants to belong to someone and has a place to stay.

Jax, around the series, has been trying so hard to become like Caine: a fiction, a code, an it. Because if he stops to being a person then he is giving himself permission to stop caring about everthing and everyone. Including his own pain.

I think most people miss that Jax and Caine has similar traits to deal with the circus. They are the same character archetype: the chaotic nihilistic. But while one is the prision of nihilisism itself the other one is trying to become one just to not think he IS a prissioner
