Among those receiving their birth certificates were women, juveniles, and a child. To them, a birth certificate is not just a document, it is a key to the doors of society, granting them the right to sit for exams, access healthcare, and reintegrate into their communities.

As part of our ongoing mission at the Bamenda Central Prison, we recently celebrated a major win for human dignity: the official handover of birth certificates to 20 inmates.

The hybrid session, hosted at the HEDECS headquarters in Bamenda, brought together a diverse assembly of stakeholders looking at the 2025–2029 Strategic Plan and its Technical Assistance from Expertise France with International Experts from TeAMS.

An Extraordinary General Assembly held on December 27, 2025, Health Development Consultancy Services (HEDECS)officially announced its transition from an association to a fully recognized Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).

We were honored to welcome key stakeholders, including the Permanent Secretary of NACC, the UNAIDS Country Representative, DLMEP-MINSANTE, ICWCA, AEAM, Echo+Sante, and many civil society actors, who engaged in a productive panel discussion to define the way forward.

We presented key findings on the negative side effects of certain HIV molecules, followed by testimonies from beneficiaries. This vital evidence led to clear recommendations for adjusting client situations and improving the quality of HIV care.

HEDECS, in partnership UNAIDS, successfully hosted a one-day HIV advocacy workshop on December 10, 2025, at Djeuga Palace Hotel in Yaounde. The focus of this event was putting the needs of clients receiving HIV-related services center stage. #HEDECS #UNAIDS #HIVAdvocacy

The organization’s impact was recognized during a guided tour of the exhibition stands, where the Governor’s Representative and health officials were presented with HEDECS items and briefed on our ongoing interventions.

In the midst of the official ceremonies, HEDECS Cameroon took the campaign directly to the population, HEDECS team carry out sensitization and free HIV testing of 50 persons in Bamenda, bringing vital health services to the public.

The commemoration of World AIDS Day 2025 in the North West Region was marked by a high- level event organized by the Regional Technical Group (RTG-HIV), presided over by the Governor’s Representative alongside the Regional Delegate of Public Health and the NACC Chairperson.
