Another of those stupid periodical football fads; awarding free kicks in the penalty area. Whatever happened to them? Seem to have near dissapeared being awarded nowdays? Not that pushing and shoving happens in that part of the pitch to justify them being awarded. 🤔

I'm surprised but grateful that Kavanagh ignored VAR's desperate attempt to find another foul. They looked at everything but overlooked the very first foul. Incredible.

I liked football when a ref could make a mistake every now and again, we’d talk about it that night and after MOTD we’d move on. We’d all accept that mistakes happen, what we have now is just total nonsense and has ruined the game for me

@AFCYop_ Very similar to the grip Kai Havertz uses on Soucek, and the Arsenal fans see a Soucek foul. These clever Alec tricks need to be spotted by officials and simply dealt with. Award a penalty and/or red card the infractors guarenteed these shenanigans will cease very quickly.

So they don’t actually communicate that the Trossard foul happens before the Raya foul…let alone show the extent of the holding & look at it in more detail?
This is a damming indictment on Kavanagh & the VAR officials imo, there’s no clear & concise communication!

I can’t understand how anyone can possibly watch that VAR footage and come to this conclusion. People are just seeing whatever they want to see and blatantly ignoring the facts.
The VAR literally said “potential foul on the goalkeeper” before Wilson’s shot leaves his boot. 🤦🏻♂️
