Israel takes 2nd at Eurovision despite five countries boycotting and campaigns to throw it out. The contrast between the booing against them in the arena and overwhelming European public viewer support might suggest Europe is more divided over Israel than one might think. This does deserve a study of some kind.

- Ils ont modifié les règles de l'Eurovision pour limiter les votes du public en faveur d'Israël. - Ils ont interdit aux ambassades et comptes ministériels de faire publiquement campagne sur les réseaux sociaux. - Ils ont interdit à la délégation israélienne d'appeler à voter 10 fois (bien qu'il soit légal pour chaque téléspectateur de voter 10 fois). - Ils ont placé Israël en 3e dans l'ordre de la compétition, en sachant qu'il est connu que chanter au début du show limite les chances de gagner (c'est statistiquement prouvé). Et au bout du compte : Israël arrive malgré tout en 2nd position. Comme l'an passé. 🙃

Eurovision keeps revealing widening gap btw Europe’s public and cultural establishment. Year after year, country juries downgrade Israel while televote strongly supports it. Millions of Europeans clearly far more open to Israel than Europe’s left-wing media and cultural elite.
