Samantha urges young people not to be afraid to make mistakes and exercise their voice. You don’t need all the answers to start working on an issue that matters to you. But it does help to have people who have your back and want to join in.

When it took off, she turned it into the nonprofit Feeding Philly. The org is still going strong, with 1,500 lbs of food collected and repurposed and 2,000 families served. Samantha is showing what’s possible when young people have the tools & support to solve challenges.

"The Fellowship taught me how to set smart goals, break things down into tangible tasks, and work backwards from big picture to small picture." Samantha Sandhaus saw her classmates go hungry while perfectly good food was being tossed, so she decided to start a community fridge.

Leadership shouldn't be a solo mission.
