Kind of irrelevant but man I’m so sick of this Claude ass prose. Talking in circles, very repetitive syntax/constructions that, in addition to immediately giving it away as AI, just sound awful

I was listening to the cast and crew commentary on ALIENS the other night and all Lance Henriksen says at this part is "Look at that shit". Why did they ever stop lighting movies like this.
HB•RAINEY™️@RaineyOvalle

Every Alien film is on HBO Max and I highly recommend y’all watch them in chronological order before they’re gone. I forgot how incredible Prometheus is when you ain’t got a bitch in your ear complaining about who fucking cares.

Democrats have a strategy to excite voters and they're ready to win in 2028 the way they did in 2024. And they mean it.

A stork appeared during the farewell of a Ukrainian defender. We hear this a lot in Ukraine - people say storks often show up at funerals, especially for fallen soldiers. I’m not someone who believes in signs, but it’s hard to ignore how symbolic it feels. A bird that represents life showing up at a goodbye. Video: tetjana1783/TikTok

I respectfully disagree. This sort of outfit can be beautiful, but it has to be done well. IMO, the problem with Vance's outfit — along with many others — is that the work has been influenced by fashion designers, rather than tailors. Let me show you. 🧵

there are unfathomable perks & opportunities to enrich oneself in politics but the downside is: sometimes, on state occasions, you have to wear a costume like this, maitre d' in a Monty Python fancy restaurant.

@amandalitman The problem isn't gonna be whether the report is boring or not, the problem is it will reveal how utterly useless and overpaid the DNC consultants are. The consultants lost the campaign the moment they told Tim Walz to stop calling JD vance "weird."

All of the #Scientology buildings on Hollywood Blvd. are locked down and they even took off the door handles. TikTok children did in a week what 30 years worth of books and documentaries couldn’t.

Genuinely awed by this video, in which a woman does a Marina Abramović “the artist is present” face at a comedian and her inscrutability and unbroken eye contact drives him to madness and reveals his deepest insecurities

I did not like Ballerina, but this does bring up another major issue I have - The almost complete and total dominance of martial arts in action. Its low key wild watching material pre -John Wick, especially 80s and 90s where great fight sequences are just punching flailing and screaming, in that sense this epic fight from Boardwalk empire was a throwback
Read George Jackson@BlabAlongGuy

@Jamellbell Ballerina had some of my favorite fight choreography in ages. Don't think I've seen a fight sequence using grenades before and damn was it super cool

A monkey is grossed out by century egg A century egg, also called pidan, is a Chinese delicacy made by preserving duck, chicken, or quail eggs in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, quicklime, and rice hulls for several weeks to months, not a hundred years. During the process, the egg changes completely. The white turns dark and jelly-like, while the yolk becomes deep green to nearly black and develops a creamy texture. The flavor is strong and sharp, often compared to sulfur or ammonia. Century eggs are commonly served with congee, dipped in soy sauce, or eaten with pickled ginger. They remain a familiar and popular part of Chinese cuisine. Unique foods everyone should try: bit.ly/48xj4Op

Ghostty is leaving GitHub. I'm GitHub user 1299, joined Feb 2008. I've visited GitHub almost every single day for over 18 years. It's never been a question for me where I'd put my projects: always GitHub. I'm super sad to say this, but its time to go. mitchellh.com/writing/ghostt…

@magi_jay I am so fucking tired of interviewers rattle off a list of questions, regardless of whether they get non-answers for the question. As soon as you get non-answer, stop forward progress and poke until you get an answer. @mehdirhasan and @jonathanvswan are very good at doing this.

@magi_jay Because good journalism is seeing the loose thread and following it. Good journalism is seeing a smarmy consultant give smarmy focus-group answers and knowing that you do not change the subject. Make them squirm. People like it when other people talk plainly.
