I made 2 exciting announcements at #NEARCON23 today about how the @NEARProtocol ecosystem is increasing alignment with the modular Ethereum stack: a collaboration with @0xPolygonLabs to build zkWASM, a ZK prover for WASM chains to unify liquidity across Web3, and a new NEAR DA solution for Ethereum rollups offering 8000x cheaper data availability. As we progress towards our collective vision of the Open Web, blockchains and infra should become increasingly invisible to users and founders – they just care about having great experiences and getting value. NEAR has been at the forefront of this shift with the Blockchain Operating System. In this broader vision, modularity provides more flexibility to developers while removing security and infra from the user experience. Today we shared some news on how NEAR aligns with Ethereum’s modular stack while expanding NEAR’s offerings to founders. NEAR is collaborating with Polygon Labs to build a zkWASM prover for unifying liquidity across Web3. This will also bring greater scalability and decentralization to the NEAR L1. And announcing NEAR DA: robust, cost-efficient data availability for ETH rollups leveraging the NEAR L1. Posting rollup data on NEAR is 8,000x cheaper than posting on Ethereum. Already working with @madarastarknet, @fluentxyz, @calderaxyz, @movementlabsxyz, @vistaralabs, & @dymension, with more to come. The future of the Open Web is multichain, not maximalism.
