@nktalen The fact that what they’re saying isn’t even what the VR game is implying. Vecna specifically targets Will because he’s weak. Mike is stronger and that’s why Vecna can’t access his mind but Vecna’s thing is that he DOES know people’s biggest fears.

We also already know that Vecna only targets people who are struggling (like Will & Max in s4) which wasn’t the case with Mike so that’s why it didn’t work.

Vecna switching to tormenting Will instead after not being able to access Mike’s mind is because Mike’s stronger than Will. Even in the show, Vecna says the reason he targeted Will is because he’s weak and, therefore, a more accessible target.

A friendly reminder that losing El is canonically Mike’s biggest fear according to the show, the writers, and Finn himself.

The way Mike gets demonized for the only crime of loving his gf and not making Will the center of his life is so insane. Imagine going above and beyond to help your friend in need and being deemed a selfish horrible person for going back to living your life when the need is over
