Why I cannot live in the United States 🇺🇸 1. My wife do not like the country. So why go there without the love of my life? 2. In the UK 🇬🇧, I don’t step outside wondering if today is the day I get caught in a random shooting. That fear is normalised in America. It shouldn’t be. 3. You can call an ambulance here without calculating your bank balance first. In the US, a medical emergency can turn into financial ruin overnight. 4. Healthcare is a right here, not a privilege. The National Health Service might not be perfect, but it won’t bankrupt you. 5. Gun culture is not embedded into everyday life here. Children go to school to learn, not to practise active shooter drills. 6. Paid annual leave is standard. In the US, people brag about not taking holidays like it’s a badge of honour. 7. Maternity and paternity protections actually exist. Families are supported, not rushed back into survival mode. 8. Worker rights are stronger. You can’t just be dropped overnight with zero protection. 9. Public transport works. I can move across cities without needing to own a car. 10. It is closer to Ikirun. If anything happens, I can carry my bag, book British airways and in 6hours I’m at home.
