Working with NHS England, we’re now rolling out OptiRad across nine sites in the North East and Yorkshire region. Managing reporting capacity across multiple sites is complex, and OptiRad was built by radiologists who have managed rotas and felt constraints first-hand.

New analysis of NHS data shows that from January to September 2025, more than 700,000 scan results were not given to patients within the recommended 28 days. Liz Hand, who received a stage four cancer diagnosis in November last year, explains how 'scanxiety' impacted her. @DrAmirKhanGP joins her as he shares his tips on how to manage scanxiety.

Last week, @GMB highlighted the shortage of radiologists and resulting delays and anxiety for patients. @DHSC must urgently fund more radiology specialty training posts to ensure the workforce can meet rising demand for scans, and cut agonising delays for patients.
