I'm proud of how we came up with Hank Scorpio because he's actually the result of a few conceptual ideas that worked together perfectlly (when being voiced by @AlbertBrooks, of course):
- What if Homer had a boss who actually gave him respect?
-What if this boss was one of those "modern" Silicon Valley jeans-wearing bosses? (remember, this is 1996)
-What if this type of boss was actually a Bond villain but his villainy is only ever in the background?

Crunchyroll is going to be fucked.
They raised subscription tiers again by $2 in February, stayed completely silent with zero public disclosure after the data breach on March 12, and keep letting their localization karens censor, remove honorifics, and rewrite dialogue like it’s their personal fanfic.
Now they have just announced they have passed 21 million paid subscribers worldwide. Yet their Japanese branch reported a net profit of only ¥453 million ($2.85M) for the fiscal period ending December 2025.
That’s a 63% drop from ¥1.239 billion the year before.
Despite the massive global growth under Sony and Aniplex, the restructuring, the March layoffs, and all the money they’re pouring into streaming, licensing, merch, and theatrical releases, the profits are collapsing.
Demand for anime is still exploding.
Their business model apparently isn’t.
