Her Private Hell surpasses my expectations as the most batshit crazy film I seen at Cannes this year. Nicolas Winding Refn has his own spin at Blade Runner with an avant garde pixie fairytale soaked in pink and blue neon colours and lots of shadows. It’s definitely not for everyone and I think many will leave thinking what the actual fuck was that, at one point Sophie Thatcher and Havana Rose Liu were just barking at each other and Charles Melton was getting whipped which was hilarious. But I have to admire a director that literally gives zero fucks and sticks to his vision in all his glory. Beautifully made and scored film that would be amazing to watch high I imagine. Also, Sophie Thatcher is great in this.
