UGC Creators: remember that when you see other creators share their big wins, you’re only seeing what they choose to share. EVERY successful creator has a slew of failures and lessons learned along the way. I’ve certainly fumbled the ball many times on my journey. Taking some inspiration from @momiugc’s recent thread about her personal hard lessons learned (thank you for sharing by the way) and am going to start sharing my own regularly. Remember, starting something new is always hard. Mistakes will be made. Plans will change. Hard lessons will be learned. And as long as you’re making NEW mistakes, you’re doing exactly what your supposed to be doing. Stay focused. Go easy on yourself. Let yourself take breaks. And remember, a rocket ship uses about 80% of its fuel during takeoff. 🚀🫡✨

UGC videos don’t require over editing at all.. But for me the key frame zoom is a must in every video 🔑 Bc the viewer may not notice it, but they definitely feel it. And this is exactly what your goal with a UGC video is #digitalmarketing #editingtips

my latest UGC EXAMPLE + breakdown!! ✨They sent me a full script for this one, but I tweaked it to sound like something you’d actually say on FT with a friend – nothing too polished ✨Kept the talking head shots low effort on purpose – casual lighting, natural tone, minimal setup ✨Added on-screen text that doesn’t match what I’m saying so it feels spontaneous + scroll-friendly ✨Used multiple settings – the goal was to show this kit fits anywhere you unwind ✨Unboxing clips went toward the end since they’re less engaging – I wanted to lead with movement, feeling, + relatability before showing the packaging What do you think?? 💭🎨 #ugcexample #ugccommunity

Creator Tip: if you want more inbounds, post more of your work and what you did to make it fire. Include results if available. Agencies and brands want to see your sauce. How are you and your content different from boiler plate content? They aren’t interested in how much you’ve made or who you just signed with or the vacation or car UGC paid for. As an agency my feed is creators and ecom, so automatically I get served creator posts. Do with that information what you will. Love, Joel Ps. @nickcastle_ugc the best conclusion to this debate. unless a brief specifically asks for no mic - I’ll do whatever feels best for the message I’m trying to deliver. + there are tons of organic content where people are holding mics - it’s literally not that deep

To show the mic, hide it, or only organic audio? Speaking from personal experience on the agency side of things… Some of the raw audio submitted by creators require a whole refillm because of the quality. Sometimes it’s beyond repair. Also, I’ve been holding a mic in my content for a loooooong time and have many current top performers. I also have raw/organic audio videos with no mic perform really well too. Both led to $20k months… A lot of this stuff we like to draw lines in the sand on…. are not cut and dry. 😬 Use a mic…. Don’t use one… Hide it… don’t hide it… 🤷🏿‍♂️ There’s other elements that make a video convert as well. 🤞🏿
